Shimmer Polish will absolutely exfoliate skin and replenish with vital nutrients.
Made from an Ancient American Indian Salt Glow Formula Shimmer Polish goes on wet skin in the shower and sloughs off dehydrated and dead cells.
Shimmer Polish restores balance, skin glows and feels baby soft.
Active Ingredients:
Corn Meal: Absorbs as it exfoliates, cleaning and nourishing with vitamins, enzymes and proteins. High in ferulic acid anti-oxidants. The bio-activity from gamma oryzanol makes corn a surprisingly effective grain for skin treatment. We use golden kernels ground to fine meal.
Dead Sea Salts: The healing powers of Dead Sea Salt have been known for ages. Curative, calming, cleansing, we use fine crystals in Shimmer Polish to create a salt-glow home spa treatment to be used in the shower for exfoliation and other benefits.
Honey: High content of minerals, amino acids and vitamins, plentiful phenolic and non-phenolic antioxidants. High content of glucose oxidase, an enzyme, helps skin heal faster. It is yummy in our Shimmer Polish treatments for its viscosity, and its emollient and water retaining properties.
Vitamin E: The term vitamin E describes a family of eight antioxidants, four tocopherols, alpha-, beta-, gamma- and delta-, and four tocotrienols (also alpha-, beta-, gamma- and delta-). Alpha-tocopherol is an anti-oxidant. The fat-soluble vitamin, alpha-tocopherol, intercepts free radicals and prevents lipid destruction. Maintains the integrity of cell membranes throughout the body, alpha-tocopherol also protects lipoproteins (LDLs) from oxidation. Lipoproteins transport fats through the blood stream. We use it as a natural preservative.
Rice Bran Oil: Rice Bran Oil appears to be the richest source of tocopherols and tocotrienols a unique antioxidant known as gamma oryzanol, and high quantities of phytosterols, polyphenols and squalene which are high potency EFA’s and therefore a rich source of antioxidants and micronutrients. Used extensively in Japanese cosmetics for its skin healing benefits and light texture, oil from the rice kernel is one of the best free radical scavengers. Ferulic acid increases anti-oxidant activity as it absorbs UV rays and thereby blocks some of the negative effects of sun exposure. Anti-cancer properties have been found.
Jojoba: Composition most like sebum (skin) makes this wax a versatile, powerfully effective ingredient in many skin care products. Naturally moisturizing and resistant to oxidation, it staves off wrinkles and is helpful in treating conditions like acne, psoriasis, eczema and others. Creates partially occlusive lipid layer preventing water loss while absorbing rapidly through the stratum comeum to nourish and soften tissues. Used in many of our products for its quick delivery of other essential ingredients.
Healing Oils contain grapeseed oil, rice bran and sweet almond oils.
Grape Seed-The active compounds in grape seed are believed to have antioxidant properties. In fact, a recent study of healthy volunteers found that supplementation with grape seed extract substantially increased levels of antioxidants in the blood. Antioxidants are substances that destroy free radicals -- damaging compounds in the body that alter cell membranes, tamper with DNA (genetic material), and even cause cell death. Free radicals occur naturally in the body, but environmental toxins (including ultraviolet light, radiation, smoke, certain prescription and non-prescription drugs, and air pollution) can also increase the number of these damaging particles. Free radicals are believed to contribute to the aging process as well as the development of a number of health problems, including heart disease and cancer. Antioxidants found in grape seeds can neutralize free radicals and may reduce or even help prevent some of the damage they cause.
Sweet Almond-Produced from sweet almonds (Prunus amygdalus) and from bitter almonds (aprunus amygdalus amara). Sweet almond oil, used as a carrier oil for blending essential oils, is beneficial for the skin, hair and has overall health advantages.
Sweet almond oil is known for its many skin benefits. While it is used for all skin types, sweet almond oil is particularly effective for dry skin that is prone to itching and irritation. The oil is a nice choice for the natural oil cleansing method because it is light, moisturizing and doesn't leave a greasy residue on the skin once it absorbs.
Sweet almond oil has a naturally warming or heating effect, making it a great choice for a massage oil as well. This heating effect is just one reason why sweet almond oil is used in muscle tension and pain relief aromatherapy blends. The absorbing effect of sweet almond oil makes it popular to mix with essential oils.
Rice Bran-Rice Bran Oil is truly "The World's Healthiest" edible oil, containing vitamins, antioxidants, nutrients and trans fat free. It's not just delicate and flavorful, when ingested it can help lower cholesterol, fight diseases, enhance the immune system, fight free radicals and more. Rice Bran Oil is extremely light and versatile. Rice Bran has particularly high levels of components with nutraceutical value such as gamma-oryzanol and tocotrienols.
Refreshing Mist contains aloe vera and lavender water.
Aloe Vera-Aloe vera is one of the only known natural vegetarian sources of Vitamin B12, and it contains many minerals vital to the growth process and healthy function of all the body's systems. Numerous studies worldwide indicate that aloe vera is a general tonic for the immune system, helping it to fight illness of all kinds. Various research studies are underway to explore the potential of aloe vera components to boost immunity and combat the HIV virus, and to treat certain types of cancer (particularly leukemia). It may even have a role to play in managing diabetes.
Over 200 worldwide scientific research papers have been published on the effects of Aloe vera. The three main categories of research include anti-inflammatory, anti- bacterial, and anti-viral actions of Aloe vera. The juice is said to soothe digestive tract irritations such as colitis, ulcers and irritable bowel syndrome. Aloe's ability to encourage the release of pepsin (a gastric juice enzyme necessary for digestion) when the stomach is full is a possible reason for its ulcer-healing effects (Journal of the American Osteopathic Society, 1963, vol.62). In one study, oral use of Aloe for six months helped mitigate asthma symptoms in almost half of the participants. Eleven of twenty-seven patients studied who drank Aloe reported feeling better at the end of the study. Researchers think that results might be due to stimulation of the immune system, as well as naturally occurring anti-inflammatory agents in Aloe vera.
Lavender Water-Lavender water calms and soothes the skin and stimulates new cell growth. Lavender water also stimulates blood circulation to the skin. Clinical studies have shown that Lavender water can facilitate the healing of acne, psoriasis, bruises, wounds, cuts, burns, sunburn and insect bites.
